Emma looked out of the window as it started to rain.“Can we go outside and splash in puddles?” she asked. “Well, it’s a bit cold, and you do have a cough and a runny nose,” said Mummy giving her a tissue.“You were coughing most of last night. Don’t forget to put your hand over your mouth if you need to cough,” smiled Mummy. Emma stayed inside and played with her toys, but began to cough and sneeze….a lot! Mummy came in with a tissue box. “Don’t forget the tissues when you are sneezing,” she smiled. Emma took a tissue and put it up to her nose and gently wiped. Mummy held the tissue tightly around her nose. “Can you blow through your nose?” Mummy said, “and don’t forget, tissues go straight into the bin. You’ve been coughing so much,” said Mummy “I think we should go to the doctor. I’ll call and make an appointment.” Mummy finished talking on the phone and showed Emma the calendar. “Today is Wednesday,” said Mummy, “and tomorrow, in just one sleep, we are going to see the doctor.”
