Zinzi is a family based, lovespun, magical journey to self discovery, building self esteem, and building self reliance. It is about an African American family who has uprooted themselves from the many sounds and experiences of city life and moved to their first dream home in the suburbs. Zinzi, always used to the hustle and bustle of the city finding suburban life just plain boring. Moreover, she loves school and school is out for the summer and her best friend Carmen can't come to play with Zinzi because Carmen is ill. Zinzi is faced with a dilemma. You are invited to get to know Zinzi, her brother Asi and her best friend Carmen and share in their wonderful discoveries and experiences. Zinzi is also an early introduction to the world of multi cultural literature and the regal history of African Americans that dates back to ancient and royal African kings and queens. Children will also be introduced to healthy and fun recipes to encourage the early development of good eating habits that will curb the rising tide of childhood obesity.
